Memory Lane, Our New Neighborhood is Now Open

Visitors Can Now Use New Main Entrance

Memory Lane, our new 28-bed neighborhood addition, officially opened on Thursday, December 15th with a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house event. We welcomed our first three residents into their new home shortly after, in January.

The new addition also includes a new main entrance for the entire facility and a corridor that connects the original neighborhood, Heritage Hall, with Memory Lane. The new main entrance is situated between the two neighborhoods. When visitors arrive they will enter into a new guest lobby. From the lobby, the new Memory Lane is to the left, the original neighborhood, Heritage Hall, is to the right. The former entrance is being converted into a sun room for the residence and guests of Memory Lane to enjoy.

The new 16,000 sq. ft. addition, which mirrors Heritage Hall, the original neighborhood, features an innovative building design to create a calm, safe, and engaging environment. In addition to the resident suites, the new neighborhood also houses a dining area, private dining room, activity room, sun room, beauty salon, and office areas.

Designed to provide a safe, yet independent living environment for seniors with memory impairments such as Alzheimer's and dementia, Heritage Springs Memory Care is unlike traditional assisted living and long-term care facilities. The physical design and layout of the neighborhoods allow residents to safely wander, which is common among seniors with memory impairments. Other building features like memory boxes and use of varying colors/materials help provide memory cues.
